The intention behind this work is to bring us closer to the microcosmic reality surrounding us.
The experience is based on the viewerís interaction: the movement of an arm is decomposed and reformulated
into structures of up to 10.000 intelligent particles in real time by a computer.
This artwork confronts us with our human cognitive skills. These allow us to rediscover a new universe by
destroying the previous one, as we modify the very perception of reality. Now we ask ourselves, can we disarticulate
ourselves as we seek reality?

La obra propone acercarnos a una realidad microcosmica que nos rodea constantemente.
Basada en una experiencia donde la interaccion de un espectador con su movimiento se ve descompuesto y reformulado
por un ordenador en estructuras de hasta 10000 particulas inteligentes en tiempo real.
Una confrontacion con nuestra capacidad cognitiva como humanos. Que como tales podemos redescubrir el universo
destruyendo el anterior, modificando la percepcion misma de realidad. ¿Podemos en nuestra busqueda de la realidad
descomponernos?

In spite of the fact that we see whole bodies as we look at a person, or a piece of wood from a tree, thereís a minute
and particular reality that constitutes the fundamental element of the macrocosms that we observe.
Particles, atoms, quanta, in their various combinations, movements and interactions, make up our whole reality.
Trails that transcend past speculations now become clear to science.
Research into quantaís indeterminacy in time and space, chaos theory, experimentation with teleportation of particles,
are just a few examples of the ideas that now lead us to believe that even our image of reality may be just a moment
or a limitation of our perception.
This artwork springs from a thought, from an idea, from a moment of awe. Mankind and its science, advances and mind,
has gone through the opaque universe that used to be the reality of our bodies and matter. Mankind in addition to
seeing further, has been able to see better and more. Where we used to see only one, now there are millions, all different
from each other. That introspection of knowledge and observation makes its way through what is solid. The quanta may
be the door to open the linearity of time into another dimension of movement. Perhaps the comprehension of its laws
(which are different from most of what we know) will help us understand other systems in the universe, even our own
existence, which makes us human, creators and destructors of our own universes.
What happens then, with existence in that microcosms, with the life in it?
That timeless immortality of quanta whispers something to us. How permeable is that quanta to
existence itself? What is the bond between that energetic whole that makes up atoms and our thought? Does memory,
the spirit of our existence, not have similarities with the quantum in its multiple projections?
I hate to think this, but perhaps there is a real necessity behind our mental structure. What if the spirit, that great memory, survives in the
multiplicity of quantum realities?

Our aim with this work is to simulate (through a binary computer)
systems similar to those generated by quanta, thus testing real and opaque knowledge. We aim to bring forth a reality
thatís more real and ever so distant. We do so somehow dazzled by the possibility that tomorrow we might discover
something thatíll disintegrate our whole existence as the individuals we knew.
Until not so long ago, I doubted the notion of human importance to existence itself. Today, I even suspect that
there is something behind the very knowledge we hold as mankind.

A pesar de que en nuestra perspectiva veamos cuerpos enteros donde hay una persona, o un trozo de madera en el
corte de un arbol, hay una realidad particular y diminuta pero que es el elemento constructor del macrocosmos que
observamos como realidad.
Particulas, Atomos, Cuantos, componen en su interrelacion y movimiento toda nuestra realidad.
Hoy aparecen bajo los pies de la ciencia senderos que tracienden especulaciones pasadas. Investigaciones acerca de la
indeterminacion del momento y espacio en el Cuanto, la teoria del caos, la experimentacion sobre la teletransportacion de
particulas son solo ejemplos de las ideas que hacen creer que incluso nuestra imagen de realidad sea solo un momento o
una limitacion de nuestra percepcion.
La obra nace de un pensamiento, de una idea, de un deslumbre. El hombre y su ciencia, sus avances, su mente, logró
atravezar ese universo opaco que era la realidad de nuestros cuerpos y la materia. El hombre aparte de ver mas lejos,
logró ver mejor y mas. Donde veia uno, hoy hay millones distintos. Y en esa introspeccion del conocimiento y la observacion
se abre paso a traves de lo solido. El Cuanto quizas sea la puerta para convertir la linealidad del tiempo en una dimension
mas del movimiento, quizas la comprension de sus leyes (distintas a mucho de lo conocido) nos ayude a comprender
otros sistemas en el universo. Incluso nuestra propia existencia. Esta que nos convierte en humanos, en eje creador y
destructor de nuestros universos.
¿Qué sucede entonces con la existencia en ese microcosmos, con la vida ahi?.
Esa inmortalidad atemporal del Cuanto nos susurra algo. ¿Qué tan permeable es ese Cuanto a la existencia misma?
¿Qué vinculacion hay entre ese todo energetico que compone a los atomos y nuestro pensamiento?. ¿No tiene acaso
la memoria, el espiritu de nuestra existencia, similitudes con el Cuanto en su proyeccion multiple?
Odio pensar esto, pero quizas si hay una necesidad real detras de nuestro estructura mental. ¿Y si el espiritu, esa
gran memoria, sobrerive en esa multiplicidad de realidades cuanticas?

Nos apuntamos en esta obra a simular (atraves de un ordenador binario) sistemas semejantes a los generados
por los Cuantos. Asi de esta forma poner a prueba el conocimiento real y el opaco. Acercar una realidad mas real pero
tan distante. Quizas, un poco maravillados con la posibilidad de que maÒana descubramos algo que desintegre
toda nuestra existencia como los individuos que conociamos.
Hasta hace poco tiempo, descreia de un importancia humana relativa a la existencia misma.
Hoy sospecho que incluso existe, quizas detras del mismo conocimiento que podemos albergar como humanidad, un algo.
